I'll probably post music theory on my own songs here! Leitmotifs, motives, V I movements!

This one goes between a Bbm7 to a F#maj7 chord. Its kinda ambiguous but I personally feel like it's in Bb minor. You can get a taste of the F# Lydian but I firmly rooted it in Bb minor. I think.

I made it with the idea of the deep sea, falling deeper into darkness and exploring that which gives you fear. The feeling of exploration, but also a feeling of innate nervousness. What if you don't like what you find? What if, at the bottom of the sea of mind, you find... nothing? A void?

But enough with the nihilist philosophy ;p. This baby's in 6/8 or 3/4, depending on how you count the groove. The ostinatos are just overdramatic walks up the chords, with additional seconds/ninths to make it more angsty. Theres nothing more angsty than a minor chord with an add9!

The echoey piano melody does nothing of note, it just emphasizes different chord tones. The horns play a nasty maj7 interval by playing the second note of the scale and the third note of the scale at the same time, but the third is up an octave. Very stank face in isolation. The last bit before the repeat of the horns one horn plays the fourth of the F# Lydian for a lil to provide a bit of magique.

The slow tempo of this one is very odd for something I've made. Usually I'm in the 120 range, and this one is like 85. As I get to posting my other musics, you'll soon see just how out of character this one is for me!

This one has no leitmotifs. Though maybe the ostinatos might be used again. The pattern is very ebb and flow, back and forth.
